This weekend I went up to a family camp in Big Bear, CA to get some rest and to relax.
Did you know that winter brings an average of 100 inches of snow to Big Bear Mountain? However, there are more than 300 days of beautiful sunshine all year long. Learn more about Big Bear at www.bigbear.com
The camp loved the idea of silence and meditation. They loved deliberately getting quiet to listen, to empty all those thoughts, worries and to get un-busy. You know how people are, they don’t know how to run wild like us dogs. They’re too busy thinking about what other people are thinking. Us dogs, we just like to roam free, could care less what other dogs think. The camp people also made us take a rest after lunch. Shoot, you don’t ever have to make me take a nap. I’ll take one whenever I feel like it!
This was the perfect place to be free. What awesome views!! I enjoyed looking out at the dense forests. It seems that I don’t see much trees anymore, trees that I can mark my spot. I heard and listened to the birds chirping. I saw a bird’s nest with little baby birds. Their mom came and they opened up their beaks to be fed. Boy, did they make a lot of noise! They must have been hungry!
I watched big ants carrying stuff that was 10 times their size. You’d never see me working that hard.
I saw MILLIONS of different bugs and flies, some of them just wouldn’t leave me alone!
I did some fishing in Cedar Lake. I did a little swimming on the lake. I did a little kayaking on the lake.
I met some cool, friendly people that totally loved on me. I met a couple of dog lovers, Bino and Dino. Isn’t that funny? I thought dogs have crazy names. I guess if you’re cool and you’re loved, it doesn’t matter what your name is. I gotta cool name, I’m loved and I got relaxed this weekend, did you?
