Do you feel the heaviness of our nation, our economy? We use to be worrying about tomorrow but I think the worry goes deeper and the worry is more widespread. It’s totally overwhelming. What are we going to do? Should we sell our home? Should we pull out our money from this bank or that bank? Should we transfer our money somewhere else? Where’s the safe bet? Should I buy a home? Do we stuff our savings money in our mattress? Should we be riding our credit cards or continue to pay them down? College? Retirement?
There are so many different questions people are asking in all different degrees of the spectrum, those that have lots of money, those that have little money, those that have lots of money tied up in investments, those that have money tied up in businesses, but the bottom line is what can we do.
I like what this article says, “Cut everything.” Start saving every penny you can, start cutting your spending and your costs. Do without. I mean, we always talked about saving money, creating a budget, put money here and put money there. Can you see the urgency now? Our economy is chaotic right now, there is too much uncertainty. Have that sense of urgency but don’t let it turn to panic. Baby steps is where we start, is what we can do.
