Too many plastic water bottles

It’s the end of August and it’s getting HOT. Over 100degrees. Ouch! I feel myself dehydrated, drinking more water. I thought I was doing well by reusing my plastic Kirkland water bottle, refilling it with filtered tap water or refilling it with the water from the Sparklett’s cooler. I would use the plastic bottle for a couple days then grab another. I heard something about bacteria in the plastic after awhile.

We went to the beach a couple days ago and my friend was packing the family’s lunch. She packed 4 of those stainless steel water bottles. I commented how cool it was. She said, “I’m getting away from using too many of the plastic water bottles.” That hit a chord with me. Because I need to be doing that too!

I thought I was doing my part: reusing my plastic bottles, reusing my plastic bags, refilling my Sparklett’s 5 gallon bottle, taking recycleables to the center, bringing my canvas bags to the grocery store, etc.

Just one more thing, I need to invest in those water containers to reuse. They do cost a bit but to think how much plastic we won’t use. Now that’s worth it!
